Class Description: This yoga is a challenging flow class that will build strength and focus as you prepare for childbirth and new mothering. Postures and pacing are designed to release tension, open the body, and encourage grounding. Pomegranate instructors are certified in prenatal yoga and will offer
poses that are safe and effective for the changes your body experiences in pregnancy and in the months (and years) after birth.
Just come check in at the Aquatics & Fitness Center prior to class. Please bring a mat and water bottle.
About the Partnership: Pomegranate Prenatal Yoga and Parent Center is pleased to announce a partnership with the Mill Valley Community Center. Both organizations strive to create community through support and wellness for families. Pomegranate will host a prenatal postnatal yoga class at the MVCC beginning January 2016.
Pomegranate’s yoga studio in San Anselmo caters to prenatal women, postnatal women, and families with yoga, pilates and childcare seven days/week as well as regular parenting workshops, moms groups, breastfeeding support, and childbirth education.
Pomegranate will bring it’s expert instructors to Mill Valley to teach yoga every Saturday at 10:30am in the Mill Valley Community Center's Aerobics studio. Pomegranate's owner, Shannon Kozubik says, "Instead of asking women to drive to our studio in San Anselmo, we are thrilled to offer this niche class in Southern Marin."
Aquatics & Fitness Supervisor, Kat Reisinger, with the Mill Valley Recreation Department is on board. “We are extremely excited to start this unique partnership with Pomegranate and to be able to offer affordable and accessible programming to our pre/postnatal patrons. As part of our Well Being Mill Valley campaign, it is our goal to offer as many consistent and high quality fitness opportunities for all target audiences."
Pomegranate, which opened in 2012, is a hub for pregnant women, postnatal women, and families seeking fitness, education, and community. Every prenatal yoga instructor at Pomegranate is certified in prenatal yoga and can confidently offer a sequence that takes into account the hormonal, physical, and emotional changes women experience during the childbearing year.
