FREE Kids Art Classes

From the Fletcher Collection brings together over 30 paintings drawn from the Fletcher Trust Collection, featuring artworks from New Zealand’s most-recognised and celebrated artists.

In response to this exhibition, local creative group Art Power will be holding two exciting children’s art classes at

Te Kōputu – the Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre.
As part of the class, children will be taken on guided tour through this superb selection of early colonial art, abstraction, modernism and other New Zealand art movements.

The works on show embrace various techniques, concepts and styles, offering an engaging and thought-provoking class. Participants will then have the opportunity to create artworks inspired by the works on display, experimenting with various artistic processes, including drawing with pastels.
