About Your Trip
Popular among domestic and foreign tourists alike, Xiamen is one of China’s most alluring coastal hubs, an ancient city along the Taiwan Strait. It’s famed for its pleasant beaches and historical attractions, including the Tang Dynasty Buddhist temple of Nanputuo. The idyllic car-free
island of Gulangyu is a popular excursion from Xiamen, known for its European colonial architecture and handsome coastline.
This sightseeing journey includes a full-day cultural tour: You’ll venture out to Gulangyu Island to visit—by electric buggy, no less—the oceanfront Shu Zhuang Garden (with its gorgeous themed sections) and the Xiamen Piano Museum, which shows off better than 100 vintage pianos from all corners of the globe. Back in Xiamen, you’ll take in the famous South Putuo (or Nanputuo) Temple and the view-rich Island Ring Road, the venue for Xiamen’s annual International Marathon.
