Ditch Medicine's Wilderness Medic

This 3-day collaborative class between Randall's Adventure and Training and Ditch Medicine focuses on the remediation of trauma and medical emergencies in a field setting by the use of both commercial and improvised techniques and equipment. Particular attention is devoted to assessment of the scene

and patient. In addition to developing patient care skills, the student will learn the required leadership traits needed to bring about successful evacuation of the patient. This class draws heavily upon both day and night scenarios. Students will be responsible for their sheltering and food during this class. Students are also required to camp on site during this class. Gear Requirements: Backpack (loaded with what you carry on a 3-day trip), hiking boots (broken in), fixed blade knife with sheath, cap or bandana, small day pack, clothing appropriate for the season, water container, rain gear (jacket or poncho), first-aid kit, Ferrocerium rod, sunscreen, insect repellant, lunch or snacks easily prepared in the field. Each class limited to 10 students. Upon successful completion, a certificate of training and class knife are awarded to the student. Class begins at 0800 on the first day.
