Day Trip to Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, and Castle Campbell

First Saturday of the new semester - a great chance for returning students to get out and blow those cobwebs away, and for new students to start their exploration of Scotland. We will start with Stirling Castle, one of the major castles of Scotland, with fascinating history and great views. Then on

to Wallace Monument a beautiful gothic tower erected in honour of William Wallace - the hero of the Braveheart film. Climb to the top for more lovely views and the chance to hear more of his story and see the famous sword. Finally we go to Dollar Glen where we walk up a lovely valley to dramatic Castle Campbell at the top of the glen. It is a ruined castle, but very atmospheric in its setting in the hills. Cost for the day will be £18 which includes entrance fees.
