Over five days, these Tibetan refugee monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery (now located in Southern India) will create a spectacular sand mandala, a five foot by five foot piece of colorful art made of millions of tiny grains of sand on the yoga studio floor. They will have a traditional opening and
closing ceremony, at the end of which this impermanent art will be destroyed and deposited into our water ways with prayers for peace. Come witness the making of this intricate sacred art and meet the monks, devout followers of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
This work is offered by donation and 100% of the donations will go toward healthcare and food for the 2,300 monks now living in the monastery in India. Handicrafts from the area will also be sold towards the cause.
