Creatinova; The 1st MCPSC Science and Business Carnival 2018

We are glad to inform you that MCPSC Science Club is going to arrange "1st MCPSC Science and Business Carnival 2018", The "Creatinova" In Mirpur Cantt. Public School and College premises that will held from 10th May to 12th May.

Organized by MCPSC Science Club & MCPSC Business Club.

"Creatinova" is

the main event where science club and business club are collaborating together for the first time. Creatinova is a metaphor which is a mix of creation and innovation together. This event is a mega plan for Mirpur Cantonment public School & College. Therefore you all invited to join us to innovate the creativity.

Rules & Regulations for every participants:

● Participants must report to their event managers 15 minutes earlier of given time.
● Participants must be well uniformed.
● Each participants must carry their institution ID card during the carnival, otherwise they can't enter into the campus.
● Participants are strictly prohibited to carry any kind of harmful thing that threat to the public society.
● Spot registration will be available from 1st day from 8 am to 12 pm. There will be no opportunity for registration after this time.
● Participants must pay their event fees during registration.(Only for on spot registration in some particular events)
● Event registration fees are non-refundable.
● There will be surprise gifts for the winners(First)First runner up and second runner up will get crest and certificate and all participants will be given certificates.

Project Showcase:

Event details:

There will be three groups in this competitions.
1. Junior(VI – VIII)
2. Senior(IX – X)
3. Higher Secondary(XI – XII)

Rules & regulations:

● Maximum number of members is 3 in one team.
● Participants must bring necessary items like tape, multi-plug, scissors etc by their own.
● The projects can be anything related to science.
● There will two categories for prize giving.
(a) Mechanical projects, (b) Non-Mechanical projects.
● Mechanical projects will be the all working projects in the field of physical, chemical, IT etc.
● Non mechanical projects will be the all theoretical/logic based projects.

Registration Procedure for Science Based Project:

Please contact your college authorities to register for the Carnival through the invitation letter that has been sent to your respective institutions. There will be spot registration also.

Wall Magazines Display:

Event details:

Rules:

● There will be two groups in this competition
1. Secondary(class IX – X)
2. Higher Secondary(class XI – XII)
● Themes must be science based.
● Participants must form a team of no more than 3 members.
● There is no specific size for wall magazine.
● The last day of the registration is the first day of the carnival.

Olympiads:

Event details:

● Categories of the Olympiads:
1. Junior(class IX - X)
2. Senior(class XI - XII)


Rules:

● There will be spot + online registration for every types of Olympiads.
● Participants must bring their own equipments.
● Calculators are not allowed in Olympiads.
● Using cell phones in the hall is prohibited.
● Answer sheets will be provided by the organizers before each Olympiads.
● Participants must carry their ID card and uniform otherwise they won’t be allowed for examinations.
● Each institution can send as many participants as they like.
● There will be 30 multiple choice question which they have to answer.
● Each Olympiads will be held in 30 minutes.
● There will be 10 minutes break between each Olympiads.

Scrapbook:

Event details:

● There will be two groups in this competition:
1. Senior(IX – X)
2. Higher Secondary(class XI – XII)
● Themes must be science based.
● Participants must form a team not more than 3 members.
● There is no specific size for scrapbook.

Sudoku:

Event details:

● Spot online registration will be available on the event day.
● Answers sheet will be provided by the organizers 5 minutes before the competition.
● Participants must bring their own equipment.
● Time duration of every exam will be 30 minutes.
● Cell phones & electronic devices are not allowed.
● Any illegal measures taken during the examination will result in immediate disqualification.

Chess:

Event details:

● There will be two groups in this competition.
1. Secondary(class IX – X)
2. Higher Secondary(class XI – XII)
● Format: Rapid Chess
● There will be 5 rounds. 10 minutes each.
● Registration can be done on spot & online.

Scientific Debate :

Event details:

Scientific debate is a debate based on scientific content. It requires scientific and logical explanation. You are cordially invited to join this event with your team to give your own opinion and win exciting prizes

Rules & Regulations:

● Each team must consist of 3 members
● Topics will be updated very soon in the event page.
● First 8 registered teams will be selected for the competition.
● Basic rules and timing will be like normal debate.
● The team on behalf of the topic and the opponent both will be selected as per registration.
● Winners will be selected based on logic.

General Knowledge Competition:

Event details:

● Spot registration and online registration will be available.
● Answer sheet will be supplied by the authority.
● Cell phone and electronic devices are prohibited in the examination hall.
● No calculators will be allowed.
● Participants will have to bring their own necessary equipment to examination hall.

**Any illegal measures taken during the G.K.C. will result in immediate disqualification.

IQ Test:

Event details:

● Spot registration and online registration will be available.
● Answer sheet will be supplied by the authority.
● Cell phone and electronic devices are prohibited in the examination hall.
● No calculators will be allowed.
● Participants will have to bring their own necessary equipment to examination hall.

**Any illegal measures taken during the IQ test will result in immediate disqualification.

Extempore Speech (Must be in English):

Rules and Regulations:

● Participants have to pick up their topic through a lottery with a 5 minutes queue.
● Each student can pick only one topic.
● There will be a chance to change the topic only once.
● Each participant will get 3 minutes to present their speech.

Photography Exhibition:

Event details:

● Categories: Open (DSLR + Mobile Phone)

How to Submit:

a) Each participant can submit only 3 photographs.
b) Photo size must be 3000 pixels in the longer size.
c) Only JPG/JPEG files are accepted.
d) Renaming Photographs: Participant’s Category_Full Name_Tiltle of the photograph_Mobile Number
e) Your Facebook ID name and Facebook ID Link.
f) Submit your pictures in the e-mail given below :

● Entry Fees : Free

● Selection Fees: 700/-

● (Non Refundable): Participants have to pay 700 BDT per picture, but only after their photo has been selected for the exhibition. Without selection Fees your picture will not be eligible for the exhibition.

Rules & Regulations:

● Digital manipulation, photo montage, stitching frames, copyright sign and watermark, logo, HDR or any sort of alternation will not be permitted. Photos found to have any of these will be disqualified without prior notice.
● Minimal adjustments(e.g. color correction, cropping, dodging, burning, brightness, contrast) are only allowed.
● Each participants will hold the sole copyright of their submitted photos.
● In case of discrepancies, if any, participants may be asked to submit RAW files.
● Participants are requested to collect their frames, certificates and prizes on the last date of the exhibition. Authority will not take any responsibility of frames, certificates and prizes after the last date of exhibition.

● All selected photographers will get:
(a) Photo with frame (b) certificate
All winners will get: (a) Photo with frame (b) Certificate (c) Crest

The winner, the first runner-up and the second runner-up will be awarded with a crest and a certificate with their selected photos with photo frame.

Presentation on Scientific Contest:

Rules & Regulations:

● Maximum member number is 2 in one team.
● They must make their own PowerPoint presentation consisting 8 pages including “introduction” & “thank you” slide
● Participants must bring their PowerPoint slide in pen drive or they can use their own laptop or equipment.
● The time limit for each group will be limited to five minutes.
● All the presentations must base on the given topics.
● Presentation remote will be provided.
● Electronic equipment laptop, projector will be provided from the college authority.

Registration Procedure:

There will be booth for spot registration and each team must come at reporting time for the event day as soon as possible to ensure their registration token.


Rubik’s Cube Solving Challenge:

Event details:

It’s Open For All. If the participants cube has issues like vulnerability to corner twists or popping should notify the authority before scrambling. We will not be responsible if a participant has a corner twist or edge parity while solving. However participants are allowed to fix those parity issues.

Rules & Regulations:

● Spot registration will be available.
● Participants will have to bring their own cube.
● There will be several knockout rounds depending on the number of participants. If someone’s cube gets broken, then he/she will be automatically disqualified.
