City Silence/Woods Walking walking meditation is a practice of open and spacious walking. We walk at a normal, relaxed pace with a focus on noticing what is around us. We drink in the nature that thrives on these beautiful trails. As Alan Watts described, being present to that which surrounds us. And,
rather than assigning values to things we let things communicate their own presence to us. Then we are awash in the simplicity of beauty, wonder and joy. We are immersed in a natural energy that meets our own. Admittedly, we are rarely silent, as those of us walking are sharing what we're sensing -- even taking pictures of things that we notice -- things that make us stop and say "ah"! Come walk with us on Sundays. We'll see you at 5 PM at the trail entrance between the parking lots in Ault Park.
