“Light yourself on fire with passion and people will come from miles to watch you burn.” ~John Wesley
This is the third year of Cinderblocks as a patient led conference and the second year that it is being hosted in the beautiful mountains of Western Maryland.
Cinderblocks is a coming together of
many voices and players within the world of healthcare and I mean that very literally. Our players include doctors that sing, physical therapists whom fire dance and artists that focus on data.
This event is often described as "Burning Man meets healthcare." We come into the metaphorical desert of broken systems of care. We bring all that we have to the table. We collaborate with others, tearing down silos. Then by burning the past we build a better future.
This event is hosted by the organizer of the Walking Gallery of Healthcare, Regina Holliday.
What is the Walking Gallery?
The Walking Gallery is a group of people who walk into a conference space wearing business jackets or doctor’s lab coats. That alone is not unusual. But these jackets are works of art. Each one is painted with the story of a patient or an element of medical advocacy by Regina Holliday or another artist. These masterpieces are worn on the backs of government employees, technology gurus, medical professionals, social media activists, CEO’s of companies, artists and many others. By walking they are spreading awareness of the concept of truly patient centered care.
Updated agendas and details to be announced. Please put this event on your calendars. You will want to join us for a weekend full of great things.
Join us early and come Wednesday May 18 for a chance to experience our local Pechakucha nights.

Friday May 20th will also begin at 8AM in Penn Alps. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and this will be a full conference day. The Walking Gallery will meet at the Cassellman Hotel to march through the historical streets of Grantsville to the Cassellman Bridge State Park and over the bridge where there will be various artists and vendors set up to check out as well.
This will be followed by a performance including music, fire dancers and beyond. It will be a great evening for all to enjoy.

We encourage all to stay to check out the local Epicurian Arts Festival being held at Little Crossings Field as well as Art in the Park located on and accross the Cassellman Bridge. There will also be many food vendors and local resturants available for lunch and dinner.
We encourage those with gifts or talents they would like to offer to contact Regina Holliday or Cinderblocks3: The Partnership with Patients Continues May 19-21, 2016 for more information on how to get more involved with #Cinderblocks3.
