CHAOS TALKS: Dr Rachael Padman
With a degree in electrical engineering, a later specialisation in radio astronomy, and numerous prestigious positions at institutions around the world, Dr Rachael Padman is now a lecturer and Fellow at Newnham College at the University of Cambridge. For this she is well
known in the physics community and the LGBT+ community alike.
She will be giving a talk on the development of her interests in physics and how her changing focus of study has not held her back from success. Her talk will also detail how interesting radio astronomy can be.

"I have what you might call a "portfolio" career, with several distinct shifts in emphasis along the way. In my talk I will show that mistakes are rarely terminal; and that Physics teaches skills which are key to success in a very wide range of areas. I will also try to convey just why radio-astronomy is so fascinating for a physicist."
