A CASPER is an epidemiologic technique designed to provide quickly and at low cost, household-based information about an affected community’s needs after a disaster in a simple format to decision makers.
CASPER is accomplished by sending teams out into the community
gathering health and basic needs information using valid statistical methods allows public health and emergency managers to prioritize their responses and to make informed decisions regarding the distribution of resources.
MRC is the perfect resource to help the health department in conducting a CASPER and this training will provide the background, methodology and job positions needed.
This class will be in preparation of an actual CASPER we will be conducting September 2016.
Target Audience: This training is open for any MRC volunteer but is targeting communications, Health Educators, Greeters, Logistics, Planning/IT, Safety/Security and Site Directors
