It is my great pleasure to invite you all to Bergen for the first nordic week of 2016.
As a result of the current unstabilities in the middle east and especially Syria we have seen a rush of migrants from the region the past time. We will adress this issue during the week, as the
theme for Bergen week 2016 is human rights in light of the syrian refugee crisis.
The week kicks off with a welcoming lunch at the faculty of law. We then proceed to a lecture from professor Terje Einarsen, who will ask the question: Is the UN Refugee Convention outdated? There will then be time for questions and debate. After mellandöd we will have a hat-party at Tords penthouse (bring a funny hat) before we hit Fotballpuben for some karaoke.
On Saturday we will have boys and girls preparty, before we converge into an awesome co-preparty before the årsfest starts at Hotell Norge.
Hangovers will be cured abruptly on sunday, when we start the day with a a guided tour of Bergen city with local historian Tord followed by a trip up Mount Fløyen, where we will enjoy hot chocolate and minttu as well as the great view of Bergen. We continue to Metro for the surprise, before the buses take us to the hytte. At the hytte we will say no to war and yes to peace with a hippie-themed sittning. Be sure to make love, not war in order to avoid punishment.
On monday we will meet up at the faculty of law after a well deserved mellandöd after the bus returns. There we will have a lecture from human rights activist dr. Ali Watti and farmaceut George Riad Deep who has worked with Doctors Without Borders. Afterwards we take a trip to Wikborg Rein lawfirm for a presentation and a bite to eat. In the evening we will have the nordic sittning at Sandviken IL clubhouse, before we hit the bergen nightlife. On tuesday the sillis is held at Foreningen Forum.
The price for the week is 200€. Should you want to participate for some of the week we will adjust the price accordingly. All associations get three spots, included one free spot. Sign up with your int.sek before the 20th of December containing phone number, allergies, arrival and departure times.
