Bala Standard Distance 4th September 2016
Previously a World and European Championship Qualifying Event
The last big race of the season in the UK, Bala Standard draws hundreds of triathletes year on year, having been the Welsh Championships and twice a World Qualifier as well as a regular
European Qualifier. Waves of two-hundred strong set out across the lake with Aran Fawddy in the distance. The bike is very fast as competitors fly down towards Dolgellau on a closed road, out-and-back course. The run follows the same route as the bike, allowing unrivalled access for spectators to cheer their friends and relations. As a celebration of a season's racing, the race is superb, set in a town that really welcomes triathletes.
