I am a wife, mother of two, and a PA by profession. I have a master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies, and a Bachelor's degree in biology and psychology. I have been practicing medicine in Salem, Oregon since 2010. Life changed drastically for me in 2014 with the birth of my daughter. Despite me
deciding before she was born that she would be a good sleeper, she was still waking up several times per night at 9 months old and I couldn't figure out why she wouldn't nap. I read several books (although I hardly had the time or energy) and was frustrated that I couldn't find my situation in a book. I failed sleep training twice mostly due to not having confidence, a good plan, or a support system. After learning many strategies and the science behind sleep, I figured it out and felt I needed to share my secrets with every tired parent! I feel basic sleep knowledge is currently not commonly known and there is a lot of conflicting information. I want to help spread basic healthy sleep principles so that bad habits and lost sleep can be prevented in the first place.
I would love to meet you, your friends, and talk about what healthy sleep habits for children really are. It'll be about 30 minutes of an educational talk and about 30 minutes of Q&A. Childcare is available if you RSVP! Please share the event!
