Do you have a baby carrier you no longer use?
We are organizing a donation drive for Carry The Future, an organization that delivers donations of new and gently used baby carriers to refugees as they arrive in Europe. Volunteers show parents how to use the carriers, ensuring their babies are kept close,
warm and comfortable, relieving just one burden on their unthinkable journey ahead.
New or gently used Soft Structured Carriers (SSCs), basically any carrier that has clasps or harnesses (such as Baby Bjorn, Kolcraft, MobyGo and Ergo), as well as Mei Tais (square cloth with four ties). If the carrier has a pocket, you can place small plush toys, baby/toddler socks/hat/mittens, high protein snacks and/or electrolyte or vitamin packets. You can also attach a note to the refugee who will be receiving your carrier by using a small binder clip! Don’t worry about translating to Arabic or Farsi. Some refugees speak English, and, even if they don’t, it’s clear that a handwritten note is extending love and best wishes for their journey.
If you would like to donate a carrier or other small items that could be included in a carrier (e.g. socks, pacifiers, other small items) please message me. I am collecting for CT shoreline and beyond.
