Avery is my niece. She is going to be 10 years old in just a few days. I have been trying to think of a way to help my sister with what she is going through & I thought this would be a great way to use the bar I just bought to host a benefit for them.
We will be taking donations in a box on the bar
along with any tip money the DJ's make they are donating it to the benefit. I am also very happy to announce that my dad has reached out to his fellow firefighters who have made contributions from each of their fire stations. Averi is a very loved young lady & I intend to do everything in my power to help her & her parents out during this horrible time.
Averi completed her first round of chemotherapy a couple of weeks ago. She is still at Riley to recover and then she will get to spend some time in the comforts of her home. That means she will probably be home for her 10th birthday! Averi still has a long road ahead of her to beat this, but she has been doing well and continually receiving good news. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
In early December, Averi was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She was sent to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis where she immediatley started treatment for AML. Her mother has taken a leave from work in order for her to be with her beautiful daughter at all times. Averi's father drives from Indianapolis to Bloomington and back everyday because he needs to keep working. Averi's older brother and sister that still live with her are currently staying with my other sister & brother in law.
The money donated will used to help pay medical and travel expenses for Averi and her family.
Any amount will be much appreciated. The more money raised, the less financial strain and stress Averi's immediate family will have due to the constant traveling between Bloomington and Indianapolis, as well as medical bills Averi's battle will incure.
Thank you in advance and please continue to pray and send positive thoughts Aver's way. She is a very strong girl and I know she will beat cancer!
