PLOT: A daring new play is performed on the shore of a lake. Its idealistic young author is devastated when his work is mocked by family and friends. Passions and jealousies surge as his beloved gives her heart away to his older rival. With comic brio and keen understanding, The Seagull explores our insatiable human desire to live an extraordinary life. When our dreams—and delusions—are dashed, and all that remains is the excruciating ordinariness of daily living, how do we find the strength to go on?
