Join us during Spring Art Scene 2018!
We’ll be hosting artwork by four local ladies Friday April 13th from 5p-10p and Saturday April 14th from 4p-10p.
Let’s get to the good part and introduce the artists!
Tatum Hendrickson // Tatum is a mixed media artist who hails from Rockford, IL. She now resides
in Chicago, IL where she received a degree in fine art from North Park University. Tatum’s art uses kitschy, childlike imagery to depict the collective feelings humans experience as they go about life on this planet. Her most recent paintings are a reflection on the range of emotions that accompany growing as an individual while simultaneously integrating oneself as a vital member of community. Tatum seeks to help others feel known in their struggles and their joys.
Andrea Belman // Andrea does meticulous cutting, inspired by boredom, and pasted together to create new things. Andrea isn’t one to talk about herself, but instead lets her artwork do the talking.
Jasmine Rose // Jasmine will be showing some of her more recent documentary photographs and use text cards similar to the Humans of New York format.
Liz Schaer// Junk Food Studies is a watercolor series that marries Liz’s formal study of graphic design with her love of watercolor painting. After asking family and friends about their favorite junk foods, she made her selections and reflected on the typography, imagery, and the eye-catching and unnatural colors used to entice consumers to make a purchase.
