Animal

Animal
A new multidisciplinary work by Mikey J White

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." - George Orwell

Mikey J White's latest multidisciplinary work explores the duality of man and beast in a sexy, queer, dark, funny and provocative exposé on the human animal.

In

this unique fusion of theatre, music, burlesque, multimedia and spoken word Mikey looks to the animal kingdom to question society, sexuality, relationships, politics and culture and find out what it means to be 'human'...

Are we really the superior species?

Mikey has worked extensively throughout New Zealand, Australia, Canada and UK amassing an impressive array of credits and awards for his work. He presented his first solo comedy show The Chronicles of Puberty: The Hymen, The Itch & (coming out of) The Wardrobe as part of 2016 Word is Out for Midsumma Festival. His second solo show, SXIINS (Twelve Skins), combined theatre, burlesque and multimedia to critical acclaim. Mikey also produces and hosts the Hare Hole's performance and art party, Ball of Wax, and performs regularly at parties, variety nights and shows around Melbourne. Most recently he co-wrote and performed in the comedy cabaret XXXmas.

Career highlights include: Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London; Nature Theater of Oklahoma, Melbourne Festival; Sydney Mardi Gras; Capital E! - NZ National Children's Theatre; New Zealand Young Shakespeare Company; and Founding & Artistic Director of Onstage Productions and Wellington Cabaret Theatre.
