Advanced Herbal Medicine Making Techniques
with Karen Aguiar and Terri Jensen
Saturday and Sunday, January 23-24, 2016 from 10-5pm
In this two-day course, we will learn to make herbal extracts from dried plant material using the percolation method. The percolation method yields strong alcohol extracts
that can be made in just a couple of days as opposed to the more lengthy maceration process of 2-4 weeks. We will also discuss how to draw out particular plant constituents to create the strongest medicines, which solvents are the most appropriate for particular plants, and how to test our results. This class is geared toward those who have basic herbal medicine making skills and knowledge.
Karen Aguiar and Terri Jensen make herbal medicine for practitioners around the country in addition to a busy teaching schedule and organizing the Northern California Women’s Herbal Symposium conferences (how do they find time?). Join us this weekend and benefit from their expertise and joy in this process.
COST: $225 if registered by January 1st, otherwise $250. Pre-registration is required.
