Come and join us for a fun weekend
of AcroYoga at Full Cirqle, Edinburgh's new venue for the circus arts and more.
During this weekend we will feature two AcroYoga workshops - therapeutic flying (lunar) and acrobatic flying (solar) - in which we will explore the basic elements of AcroYoga. Both workshops are designed for complete beginners so no previous experience is necessary in yoga, acrobatics or Thai massage. Just come with an open mind, either by yourself, with a partner or bring a friend. (No partner is necessary to join the workshops!)
About AcroYoga:AcroYoga blends yoga postures and philosophy with the healing touch of Thai yoga massage and the strengthening elements of acrobatics. It is a progressive system that includes two forms of flying: acrobatic and therapeutic. In acrobatic flying both parties, base and flyer, work actively together. The acrobatic flying practice is fun, dynamic and very uplifting. In therapeutic flying the flyer is relaxed and passive. This type of practice is very grounding as it uses gravity to gently release tensions in the flyer’s spine.
Learning to trust, a clear and non-confrontational communication, the experience of taking a risk, providing support and learning to receive are the main emotional benefits of AcroYoga.
Therapeutic Flying Session (Lunar):
Saturday, 23 Jan, 2:00 - 4:30 pm
In this workshop we will discover the basic elements of therapeutic flying. We will explore the power of gravity as a healing technique. We will deepen into trusting and letting go and we will discover our healing powers through giving and receiving Thai yoga massage. We will work in the roles of flyer, base and spotter.
Acrobatic Flying Session (Solar):
Sunday, 24 Jan, 2:00-4:30 pm
In this workshop we will explore the basic elements of acrobatic flying. We will enhance balance, practice inversions and work with strength elements. In the roles of flyer, base and spotter we will create a safe environment for our first acrobatic flights, including some transitions and a short acrobatic flow.
You can come to just one session or join both.
One session 25£ - both 45£.
These workshops are likely to fill up, therefore please register early. Priority is given to those booking both sessions.
Please note that these workshops are not suitable for pregnant women. Participation is at one's own risk.
