Certified AcroYoga teacher and RYT 200hr, John MacPhail is going to teach you the basics and safety of AcroYoga. Acro Yoga is a fusion of acrobatics and yoga. Be open to the possibility of balancing, flying, laughing, falling, and most importantly having fun! We will be challenging ourselves as we learn
to fly and balance in new ways.
Awaken your playful potential by exploring principles of balance, creativity, and communication.
No partner or experience is required. Just come with a willingness to learn, laugh, make connections, and have fun. You will learn the basics of spotting, flying, and basing through weight transfer and stacking.
Week # 1 – Intro to AcroYoga – Demonstrating the roles of the Base, Flyer and Spotter. Discussing the importance of safety, proper form, and then starting off with a basic poses.
Week # 2 – Refresh on safety and proper form, moving onto some more fun poses. Then moving on to demonstrate how to transition from one pose to another, eventually working towards a flow.
Week # 3 – Refresh on safety and proper form. From there, we would review transitions again, with the focus on how to create a fun AcroYoga flow, using music.
