SAVE-the-DATE for Saturday, September 17, 2016
During the week of September 10-17, 2016, Welcoming America and its partners across the country will host National Welcoming Week, a nationwide event that will highlight the contributions of immigrants to American communities. Throughout the country, these
events will bring together immigrants and U.S.-born community members in a spirit of unity.
The Tampa Bay Welcoming Week 2016 Event will be hosted at the University of South Florida again this year in collaboration with members of the Tampa Bay Refugee Task Force, USF Honors College, Department of Global Health and with the Refugee & Immigrant community.
Take Cuban dance lessons, get a henna tattoo, take a mock citizenship test, meet refugees from all over the world and watch a Cultural Fashion Show.
Learn about internship/volunteer opportunities or students can connect with a refugee service provider to learn more about working on key projects to help the Tampa Bay community.
Live music, dance performances, educational cultural tables, volunteer/internship opportunities and free food are all a part of an international event you are sure to remember.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Saturday, September 17th, 2016 11:00am to 2:00pm
Please volunteer with us for this nationally recognized event and to work closely with a large number of refugee & immigrant service providers and refugees that will be attending.
Location: USF Marshall Student Center
